Gary Barnes is from Toledo, Ohio and always travel to Nashville, TN to visit his Aunt Martha and Uncle Larry. He has 6 cousins who also lives in Nashville. Gary always goes to Nashville every Thanksgiving and stays there 2 weeks and visit his family. Gary always spends time with his mom's sister Martha and always see's his girlfriend of 5 years Audrey Gibson who also lives in Nashville. Gary calls his girlfriend Audrey and they chat with each other. Gary and Audrey usually talk about what they are going to do for Thanksgiving.

The phone rings and Audrey answers it.

Audrey: "Hello."

Gary: "Hi Audrey this is your boyfriend Gary. How are you doing?"

Audrey: "I am doing good and you?"

Gary: "I'm doing alright. I was wondering what are you plan on doing for Thanksgiving?"

Audrey: "I will probably watch Fried Green Tomatoes with my little sister. How about you, do you have anything planned for Thanksgiving this year?"

Gary: "I will be visiting my aunt and uncle in Nashville and I will probably watch Home Alone with my cousins."

Audrey: "Sounds cool maybe we can hook up since my parents known your aunt and uncle."

Gary: "Ain't that's cool how we all met each other and it's been 5 years since we have been in a relationship. Time sure goes by fast beautiful!"

Audrey: "Time sure goes by fast, we always talk and hang out and I always enjoy our conversations. You always seem to surprise me on my birthday everytime you visit."

Gary: "I always enjoy surprising my beautiful blond hair and blue eyes girlfriend. I know that you have a birthday coming up and trust me this surprise that I have for you, you will truly be in awe!"

Audrey: "Awww you're so romantic sweetheart, I know whatever it is I will love it. Come to think about it I love all of your surprises."

Gary had just gotten off the phone after they said "good-bye" and "see you soon" to each other. Excited about planning on proposing to Audrey, Gary went to a beautiful jewelry store in Toledo and purchased a beautiful engagement ring. Gary decided to go to the bus station and get him a round trip bus ticket from Ohio to Nashville. When Gary arrived at the bus station in Nashville he called his aunt and uncle to come pick him up. Gary's aunt and uncle came and picked him up and they greeted him.

They said, "Gary you got tall! How tall are you?"

Gary replied, "I'm 6' 2".

Gary asked, "Aunt Martha do you still make your famous green bean casserole?"

Martha replied, "Definitely!"

Larry said, "And she made your favorite peanut butter chocolate chip cookies too."

Martha noticed that Gary had a beautiful engagement ring.

Martha asks, "I noticed that you have an engagement ring are you planning on proposing to Audrey?"

Gary responded, "Yes, she is the one and I want to spend the rest of my life with her Aunt Martha."

Martha responded, "Awww that's sweet."

Larry said, "I'm so proud of you Gary!"

Gary answered, "Thanks y'all!"

Gary and his aunt and uncle all drove back to his aunt and uncle's house and Gary met his cousins, who already got Home Alone in the DVD player. The dogs greeted Gary too. The border collie and scottish terrier and Gary were playing. Gary's cousins all seem to enjoy when Kevin is beating up Marv and Harry in Home Alone.

Gary calls his girlfriend up on the phone.

Gary says, "Hi Audrey."

Audrey responds, "Hi Gary, so how is everything going with you and your family?"

Gary answers, "Well, I am enjoying spending time with my family and me and my cousins are enjoying watching Kevin beat the crap out of Marv and Harry in Home Alone. So how's everything going with you?"

Audrey says, "Home Alone is funny, lol. Well my sister and I are watching Fried Green Tomatoes and we always seem to enjoy the parking lot scene when Kathy Bates as Towanda is crashing into the young ladies car for deliberately taking her spot at the Winn Dixie. That scene is hilarious!"

Gary responded, "That is hilarious! Well, I have a surprise for you and I know that your birthday is in 2 days but I was wondering if it is alright with you if I can come over to give it to you?"

Audrey replied, "You know what my mom and dad was planning on coming over to see your aunt and uncle so you can give me the surprise when I come over there sweetheart!"

Gary answered by saying, "Cool."

Audrey and her parents drove over to Gary and his aunt and uncle's house. Gary hugs his beautiful girlfriend Audrey. Gary and his family and Audrey and her family all have lunch together. After dessert Gary decided to talk with Audrey outside.

Gary says, "Audrey you know we always see each other whenever I'm in town and I always enjoy hanging out with you and we always have fun together."

Audrey responds, "Yes!"

Gary responded by saying, "I told you that I had a surprise for you when I was in Toledo."

Audrey replies, "Right!"

Gary answered, "Your parents and my aunt and uncle are really tight and me and you became really tight when we met each other 5 years ago."

Audrey responds, "Yes!"

Gary said, "I'm not going to beat around the bush any longer."

Gary got down on one knee and said "Audrey, what I'm saying is I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you beautiful! Audrey will you marry me and make me the happiest guy?"

Audrey blushed and said, "Wow, when you told me that you had a surprise you was not kidding. You know how much I love your surprises and I love how romantic you are. Of course I will marry you sweetheart!"

Audrey and Gary is now engaged and they are planning on getting married in June of 2013. Gary at age 24 and fiancee' Audrey 23, will be 24 in 2 days. The two love birds will spend Thanksgiving planning their wedding. Gary is planning on moving from Toledo to Nashville in 2013.

Wow really enjoyed doing a dialogue fictional story like this! This is a normal thanksgiving where a friend comes in town who has the ultimate surprise for his girlfriend. Gary's aunt and uncle and Audrey's mom and dad introduces Gary and Audrey to each other because Gary's aunt and uncle and Audrey's mom and dad are best friends. This thanksgiving plan had Gary surprising his girlfriend with a proposal 2 days before her 24th birthday and Audrey says yes! I really enjoyed writing the dialogue in this fictional story.

Selected Favorite Fictional Story #5 Fictional Story: Todd McNeil Vs. Andre (Killer) Morris Heavyweight Championship (Rounds 1-5) 20 Oct 2015

Brooklyn, NY (This is Andre Morris rough neighborhood.)

Scranton, PA (This is where Todd McNeil is originally from and grew up here until he was 13 years old.)

Philadelphia, PA (This is the neighborhood where Todd McNeil moved to from Scranton when he was in the 8th grade and all through high school. Vinnie his trainer used to come in this neighborhood to teach Todd McNeil how to fight.)

Andre Morris grew up in Brooklyn, NY where he was known as killer because of his killer instincts. He knew where to hit people where it really hurts and would knock out people with his famous uppercut or quick rabbit punch. Andre Morris came from a background where his parents were strung out on drugs and his grandparents raised him. Practically all of his life, Andre Morris had to fight on the streets to survive. At the age of 15 Andre Morris started going to the boxing ring to learn how to box. Andre Morris was trained by Gus who taught him everything that he knows and at the age of 28 Andre Morris has an impressive record of 35-0. Andre Morris beat the best in New York and he KO 30 fighters along with winning the other 5 fights by TKO. Andre Morris was well trained by Gus during his practices and Morris won titles after titles. Morris won the heavy weight title when he knocked out former Champ Herman Burns in the second round.

Meanwhile, a scrawny kid by the name of Todd McNeil came from Scranton, PA. This kid learned how to fight because he used to get beat up by bullies in the 8th grade and all through high school. Vinnie would invite McNeil to the boxing ring to teach him how to fight because McNeil used to have black-eyes. Todd McNeil decided to finally learn how to fight when he was 18 and he went through light weight boxing matches where he would learn to develop as he would fight different fighters from all parts of Pennsylvania. A bum named Richard Newton went the distance with Todd McNeil when they fought in Philadelphia. This fight was the worst light weight fight that the crowd in Philly had ever seen. The 2 guys traded punches back and forth until McNeil finally got the advantage when he knocked out Newton in the 7th round. Todd McNeil now at age 29 has a record of 29-5. 

McNeil's trainer Vinnie said, "I got to tell you this kid, you have a lot of heart and you give it your all everytime you step into the ring."

Todd McNeil replies, "I want a shot at the heavy weight title against Andre (Killer) Morris Vinnie!"

Vinnie answers, "Kid he will knock you into next week, you don't stand a chance against this kid."

Todd McNeil's response is, "But I'm hungry, I can go the distance and pull off an upset just train me."

Vinnie replies, "I admire your optimism but he will knock you out kid."

Todd McNeil answered, "I can beat all the odds that are stacked against me."

Vinnie says, "You know what you got a lot of guts kid and I will take you up on your challenge and set up the title bout with you and Andre Morris."

"All I want is a chance to prove to the world that I can pull off the upset," utters Todd McNeil.

Andre Morris issued a challenge to anyone who wanted to challenge him for the title.

He responded by saying, "If there is a challenger that will fight me and can last 5 rounds and can beat me then I will congradulate him for beating me."

Todd McNeil stepped up and said, "Hey Andre Morris I will challenge you for your heavy weight title!"

Andre Morris replied, "Alright Todd McNeil you're on, the fight will be in Madison Square Garden!" 

The fight would take place in Madison Square Garden. The trainers had a chance to train their fighters for the title. No boxer was taking anything lightly. Vinnie was working on helping Todd McNeil's focus level for the fight. Andre Morris was taking out his aggression on the punching bag.

It was a sellout crowd at Madison Square Garden and the ring announcer would announce the fighters as they prepared to fight.

Vinnie gave Todd McNeil some words of advice by saying, "The best advice that I can give you is to fight this guy hard kid and go out there and win!"

Todd McNeil was motivated from that.

The announcer said, "First the challenger at 5' 11" tall weighing at 205 LBS from Scranton, PA Todd McNeil."

Naturally the crowd booed because Todd McNeil was from Pennsylvania.

Then the announcer said, "And here is your heavy weight champion at 6' 1" weighing at 215 LBS from Brooklyn, New York they call him the "Killer instinct" Andre (Killer) Morris."

The crowd is on their feet cheering their hometown favorite champion Morris.

The ref told the 2 fighters, "Hey, I want a clean fight, no hitting below the belt, and watch out for the rabbit punches."

The bell rings for round 1 to begin: Andre Morris is lighting Todd McNeil up with a series of right and left uppercuts to the face. Todd McNeil tries to punch Andre Morris in the jaw but Andre Morris ducks and uppercuts Todd McNeil in the stomach. Andre Morris is catching Todd McNeil with quick jabs to the face. Todd McNeil was trying to fight back but couldn't connect with any of his uppercuts. Andre Morris again is lighting Todd McNeil up with more quick jabs to Todd McNeil's face and have him up against the ropes and they are holding each other. The ref tells them to break it up. McNeil is able to get in a couple of jabs to Morris's head right before the bell rings. It was the end of round 1 and Morris takes round 1 easily against McNeil.

Both boxers go to their trainers and Vinnie tells McNeil, "Hey kid don't quit because you have more heart than him; he is just a fighter like you."

Gus tells Morris, "You got him right where you want him, put him away kid."

The bell rings for round 2 to start: Morris is catching McNeil with a series of lightning quick jabs and uppercuts to the chest and stomach. McNeil catches Morris with a nice uppercut to the head. Morris answers with an uppercut to McNeil's face and cut his eye open with that vicious blow. McNeil is trying to fight back with his one good eye and is able to to catch Morris with uppercuts to his stomach and ribs and is able to catch him with a nice left hook to the jaw and knocks him on the ground. The ref counts 1, 2,3,4 and Morris gets back up. Morris is trying to catch McNeil with rights and lefts jabs but McNeil is dodging his hits. The bell rings and the fighters go back to their trainers. After 2 rounds it's even at 1 apiece.

Morris was stunned by McNeil's left hook in Round 2 of their Heavy Weight Championship boxing match that knocked Morris on the ground. Morris was able to get back up after the 4 count.

Gus to Morris: "Kid don't play nice, you got to beat this punk up good!"

Vinnie to McNeil: "Nice round McNeil you was able to weather the storm. Stay in the fight kid!"

Round 3 begins: Morris catches McNeil with a series of jabs to the face and head. McNeil tries to catch Morris with a right hook to the face but Morris dodges it and uppercuts McNeil in the face and continues to catch McNeil with jabs to McNeil's face. McNeil catches Morris with jabs to his chest and stomach. Morris catches McNeil with uppercuts to the ribs. McNeil tries to uppercut Morris in the head but Morris dodges it and catches McNeil with uppercuts to the face and a really nice uppercut to the jaw that sent McNeil to the ground. The ref counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 but McNeil somehow gets up to beat the 10 count. Morris is toying with McNeil with jabs to the face and head and jabs to the ribs and stomach. McNeil answers with uppercuts to the stomach. McNeil tried to catch Morris with a right hook to the jaw but Morris ducked and uppercuted McNeil in the face that sends McNeil right back on the ground again. The ref counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 but McNeil fights through the pain and refuse to stay down as he gets back up to beat the 10 count again. Morris clearly dominated the challenger McNeil in that 3rd round as the bell rings and both fighters go to their trainers.

Gus to Morris: "Kid you gave that kid the VIP (Very Intense Pain) treatment more punishment kid more punishment!"

Vinnie to McNeil: "McNeil continue to fight hard because you have a heart of a champion kid!

Round 4: The bell rings for round 4 to begin. McNeil catches Morris with jabs to the head and stomach. Morris continues to catch McNeil with those lightning quick jabs to the face and head. Morris is catching McNeil with uppercuts to the stomach and Morris catches McNeil with a series of jabs to the ribs. McNeil answers with jabs to Morris's face and chest. Morris waits patiently for McNeil to do an uppercut which McNeil tries to uppercut Morris in the head but Morris cleverly dodges it and have McNeil up against the ropes. Morris catches McNeil with a nice left hook to the face that sent McNeil to the ground. The ref counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 but McNeil gets back up in time with a second before being knocked out for the count. The fighters go to their trainers as the bell rings and it's the end of round 4. McNeil took a brutal beating in these last 2 rounds. Morris takes rounds 3 and 4 by knocking down the challenger McNeil 3 times before he got up to barely beat the 10 count every time and it was on to that decisive 5th round. McNeil took a brutal beating those last 2 rounds.

Finally, it was time for the bell to ring for the decisive 5th round for the title. Morris continues to beat on McNeil with a series of rights and lefts jabs to his ribs. McNeil looked so exhausted from the punishment he took in rounds 3 and 4 but McNeil never quit. McNeil put together a combination of jabs to Morris's face and head. Morris tried to hit McNeil in the other eye to try to cut it open but McNeil was able to duck and was able to catch Morris with uppercuts to the ribs.

Gus angrily responded, What are you doing kid, fight back don't go toe to toe with this kid he will knock you out!"

Morris wasn't fighting smart at all and allowed for it to be a trading punches fight with him and McNeil.

Vinnie said, "Go for it McNeil you got this kid!"

McNeil and Morris continued to trade punches in the 5th and decisive round. McNeil caught Morris with a right hook to the nose and a nice uppercut in the eye. McNeil was jabbing away at Morris's chest and stomach. Morris tried to move back but was up against the ropes. McNeil uppercuted Morris in the jaw and Morris fell on the ground. The ref counted 1, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.

The ref said, "You're out! The winner and the new heavy weight champion Todd McNeil."

The crowd cheered as Todd McNeil who was an underdog pulled off an upset to Andre Morris. After the fight was over Todd McNeil and Andre Morris shaked hands and Andre Morris congradulated Todd McNeil.

You have 2 different fighters from 2 entirely different backgrounds. Andre Morris grew up in a home where his grandparents were raising him because Andre Morris's mom & dad were strung out on drugs. Andre grew up in the rough ghetto Brooklyn, NY where he had to fight on the streets to survive. Todd McNeil grew up in Scranton, PA which was not that rough a neighborhood. Todd McNeil lived in Scranton until he was 13 and then Todd McNeil moved to Philadelphia where it was very rough. McNeil was an easy target for bullies who often beat on him. Philadelphia was Todd McNeil's boot camp. Todd McNeil was an underdog who learned how to fight the best way that he know by getting beat up until he learned how to fight. McNeil never had a chance when it seemed like the odds were always stacked up against McNeil with that being the Heavyweight Championship against Andre Morris. I wrote this fictional story because I did this to resemble the movie, "Rocky" Sylvester Stallone always seemed overcome the odds when they were stacked up against him. That movie is why I always pulled for the underdog to win and pull of the upset. Please check out the 2 following links below:

Roger Williams and his ex-fiancee' Mary Ann Johnson were once in love with each other. They both are from the Garden State and grew up in Newark, New Jersey. Roger and Mary Ann met in college and seem to hit it off very well when they talked. Roger has had a gambling problem ever since he was 13 years old, started gambling when he played a street card game called 3 Card Monte where he had to guess where was the Queen. Roger lost $20 because he was bad at that game. That would lead to him gambling and it got to the point where he would spend his times on the street corners trying to master 3 Card Monte. Roger  was never any good at that game but he would borrow money from friends and simply blow it. Roger had such an addiction to where he started playing the lottery when he was 18 years old, the slot machines in Atlantic City, and playing dice with chips but would lose and end up broke every time. Roger has been gambling for 19 years and it caused so much friction between him and his ex-girlfriend. He met his ex- girlfriend when they were 20 years old and got engaged when they were 22 years old. After 12 years of Roger's habit she told him that enough is enough and she called off the engagement when he pawned her engagement ring for money to gamble. Roger tried talking to Mary Ann on the phone and told her about his dilemma.

Mary Ann said, "Hey Roger I'm sorry but I can't help you. You have caused me so much problems with your gambling problems. I can't be with a guy who don't know when enough is enough and I can't be with a guy who put his gambling over me. Our relationship is over!"

Roger was at his worst moment and looked like someone who didn't have a friend in the world. Roger kind of brought this all on himself when he kept borrowing money from friends who don't want to have anything to do with him after he blew their money that they had lent him. Roger thought maybe he could talk to his friend Frank Lewis who was his gambling buddy and who knew what it was like to be broke. Roger called Frank on his cell phone.

Roger responded, "Hey Frank I'm in a big jam and I need your help."

Frank replied, "Mary Ann called me and told me the whole story. Man, you have a serious problem. I know we used to go out gambling together during the college years but your ex-girlfriend really care about you and hate to see you  go down the path you are on. If you keep on gambling the way you are you will be homeless and on the streets, bro."

Roger answered, "I really love Mary Ann but she don't want to have anything to do with me."

Frank replied, "Bro, I had a serious gambling addiction since I was 16 years old and for 10 years I was hopeless because that was my life. I've been free from gambling for 6 years now. Me and my wife Erma have been married 4 years now. She told me something that really cause me to change my ways. She told me, "Frank I love you but it's either me or the gambling. You can't love me and gambling, too." When I lost my last $500 I had gambling one time in Atlantic City it didn't take me long to realize that I was heading down a path of being a broke bum and end up homeless and on the streets."

Roger responded, "I've blown like so many hundreds of dollars over the years and of all places it had to happen in Atlantic City. I'm flat broke. Is there any way you can talk to Mary Ann for me because she will listen to you."

Frank replied, "I can't make any guarantees. How much did you lose at the casino?"

Roger answered, "$750.00."

Frank responded, "$750.00, I really can't make any guarantees but I will talk to her!"

Frank had a long talk on the phone with Roger's ex-fiancee' and Mary Ann agreed that she would talk to her boss in Hackensack where she works at to see about hiring Roger to work where she works at. Although, she have no plans on marrying Roger they are on speaking terms again. The fact that they are on speaking terms have their relationship heading in the right direction.

You have a compulsive gambler who never was any good at gambling borrowed money countless of times from friends who no longer call that person a friend but more of a beggar. Roger is a pathetic person who needed help in the worst way and hears a story from a friend who got delivered from that lifestyle and turned his life around and he helps the friend out, talks to his ex-girlfriend/ex-fiancee to get her ex-boyfriend/ex-fiance at least on speaking terms. That is a true friend and what a true friend does.

Selected Favorite Fictional Story #3 Fictional Story: Lost Money 6 Feb 2012

Daytona Beach, FL. (Margaret's hubby is a cop so that whole scene with the drug dealer was a hilarious scenario.)

It all happened in the Sunshine state of Florida. A woman by the name of Margaret Crayton, lives in Daytona Beach, FL. Margaret is a very wealthy woman.  What I mean by wealthy, I mean she owns 4 houses and they are all in Florida. Margaret has 3 children; Casey, Harry, and Jan and a step-child Kyle. Margaret comes from a rich family background. Margaret's mom retired after working 35 years for a company in Florida where she was a boss who hired and fired people. Margaret's dad moved to Hawaii after Margaret's parents divorced when she was only 11 years old. Margaret's dad have owned his business for 30 years and retired from it. Margaret at age 40 has been through being married, divorced, and now remarried. Margaret was always taught to help people in need because that was what her family did. Margaret is family orientated, close to her family, and is free-hearted when it comes to money. The big reason that Margaret owns 4 houses is that when her 3 children get grown they will have their own house to live in like their step-brother Kyle does.

Margaret was going to work one day and noticed that there was an envelope on the ground. She picked it up and opened it and noticed that there was $900 in cash inside it. Margaret decided to call the police on her cell phone and let them know that there was $900 in an envelope that someone lost. She gave the cops the directions to where the money was because she found it in her area. The cops suspected that it might have been a drug dealer who has been selling drugs and came to the Daytona Beach area to avoid being arrested. The cops decided to have Margaret be the decoy so she would pretend to buy drugs from the drug dealers.

Meanwhile, a drug dealer by the name of Trevon Brown AKA T-Bone was selling drugs in Tampa, FL and he had sold some to who he refers to as his "valuable customers" in the Daytona Beach area. Trevon has been selling drugs since he was 16 years old. Trevon got the nickname T-Bone because he had his hoodlums beat up people who didn't pay him when he had the goods for them. Trevon always drove away in his stolen getaway car along with his boys: Kevin, Marvin, Chester, Standley, and Duane. Trevon could always elude the cops but his biggest mistake is how careless he is with money. Trevon would lose money no matter how much money he would make. Trevon and his boys were great at selling drugs because they knew how to give their customers a good deal no matter what the drug is. Trevon at age 26 has been selling drugs for 10 years.

Then one day it happened. Margaret decided to change her look and dress like a woman who looked like she have been on the streets. She called the cops and let them know that she was driving into Tampa, FL and they followed her to where the drug dealers hideout was. Margaret met up with Trevon and his boys but her car was parked so far away where it was not in view. That way Margaret would look like she was walking in the streets. 

Margaret was discussing asking the boys, "How much would it cost me if I wanted to buy cocaine and acid?" 

Trevon replied by saying, "It all depends on how much you want." 

Margaret told Trevon that she only had $10 and she wanted $10 worth. Trevon was prepared to hook Margaret up with some cocaine and acid until all of a sudden, the cops got out of their car and arrested Trevon and his boys for possession of sale, possession, and driving around in a stolen vehicle. The cops confiscated the $900 as evidence and it was all because of Margaret doing the right thing by calling the cops and given them the missing money.

How many cases where someone who find lost money decide to do the right thing and turn it into the police. In Margaret's case it was being the decoy to catch drug dealers who were selling drugs for money. Margaret had to look like a street girl in order not to blow the police chances of catching the drug dealers. Margaret had to drive a raggedy car in order to not appear like Margaret is wealthy and parking the car far away was a way for the drug dealers not to notice that she was even in a car. Margaret really played a poor person really well. Margaret's hubby is a police officer & that was cool how the hubby & wifey worked together to catch the drug dealers. This Fictional Story was very fun writing and I really enjoyed it!

Selected Favorite Fictional Story #2 Fictional Story: The hitchhiker reflecting what happened 3 years ago 5 May 2014

There was a young teenager who looked to be no more than 13 or 14 years old. He hitchhiked and ended up in California. His parents went to his bedroom to check where he was and discovered he had a dummy wrapped up in bed sheets and he had a tape recorder to answer questions as if the boy was there. His parents saw this coming because he would leave notes under his parents bedroom door saying he wasn't happy and he was tired of everyone blaming him for stuff that wasn't his fault. He decided the best way to hitchhike was to get some food out of the refrigerator and he even stole money from his mom's purse. The hitchhiker felt that it was the best way that he would get respect. He had never ran away from home before but he didn't care if he got caught or if the police saw him wandering in the street. He wound up in Cali and not knowing a soul, so he met some friends who took him to a shelter. One of friends name was Joe. The hitchhiker had enough food for himself and the friends.

Meanwhile, back in Missouri Ray the hitchhikers parents, was worried. They didn't know where their son was and was wondering why he took off like that. Since he was in Cali and they were in MO, there was no way where they could call the police. Ray thought that he was just going to runaway but the people who worked in the shelter knew where Ray was from. They decided to let him call his parents because they didn't want to bust him. Ray was saying how his parents never listen to him and how they are over protective and blah blah blah.

Joe was telling him a story about how when you are in a shelter there is really no freedom there. In fact, everyone have curfew at 10 PM and you have to be out at a certain amount of time. Since he was in the ghetto part of California he was telling him how they take your clothes so there is really no privacy. Joe was trying to break off some knowledge to little Ray Ray. Ray just didn't look at the long term effects it would have on him if he ran away from home. He was thinking that he would get respect but if he was going to be on the streets he would encounter thugs like he wouldn't believe and he is just a kid so the thugs could easily get a kid his age to beat him up. Finally after the pep talk from Joe and the other people at the shelter Ray borrowed their phone to call his parents to come get him. Ray's parents came and got him and brought him back to Missouri. They told him that there is nothing too serious where he had to runaway. Ray had to do serious Community service for what he did and his parents promised him that they wouldn't be too busy when he got stuff to say.

Three years ago, I was 13 going on 14 years old and I remember hitchhiking from my hometown of Springfield, MO and wound up in Los Angeles, CA at a shelter. I was a little runt who used to act like a spoiled kid. I remember leaving those notes telling my parents that I would runaway from home. I am Ray Abbott II now 17 years old. I tested my parents meaning I would do stuff for attention just to see what kind of reaction I would get from them. I am my parents only child and I felt they treated me like I was their baby and also as their independent child. I'm thinking to myself if I only had a younger brother or a younger sister that things would be better (actually I felt that my parents would pay even less attention to me). I felt either way I would be screwed. I had a chance to get a big wake up call when Joe, who worked at the shelter talked some sense into me. He basically told me that trying to live the thug life as a young teenager will get me beat down. Once I realized that what Joe said to me hit home I used the worker's phone and called my mom and dad to come get me because I was ready to go home. I had my parents worrying about me and I could have just tried communicating with them even if I don't always agree with them. I have friends where I am from, who grew up with only one parent raising them (whether it being mom or dad).

I have two parents who love me and who really care about me enough that they would do all they can to help me if I need help. I had a chance to think about that while I was doing my Community service for a year (from 13 1/2 years old until I was 15 years old). I am going to be a Senior in high school and thought that I would write this reflecting how much I have matured during that time. Well, I have not ran away from home since that incident. I realize no matter how much I think I have it bad or that life sucks there is people who have it a whole lot worse than me. There are kids who have been abandoned by their parents and whose grandparents are raising them or kids who are in foster care because they were abused by their parents when they were kids. Sometimes we don't always look at the whole picture. I am blessed that my parents are always there for me when I need them. My mom (Mrs. Jolene Abbott) always come to my room with delicious baked chocolate chip peanut butter cookies and my dad (Mr. Ray Abbott I) always leaves $10 or $20 on my desk so I can buy school lunch at the cafeteria. No matter how much I think that things are screwed up I can always count on my parents being there for me.

How could I forget the hitchhiker story. A young teenager thinking about running away and he have a clever plan on how to runaway but used a method a child would use by using a dummy wrapped in bed sheets and a tape recorder not something a 13-14 year old would do. He or she would just runaway. Sometimes people don't always realize how good they have it until they go out in the real world. Ray Abbott II finally realized that no one will treat you like your parent or parents whether it is both mom and dad or if it is just mom or just dad. It's amazing how punishment like doing community service can change a person's heart.

Poplar Bluff, MO. (Millie's parents left Millie & Bob a Mansion.)

It was a beautiful morning in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Millie Jenkins had worked the 9 AM- 5 PM shift and come home and rummaged through the dresser draws in her bedroom and noticed that there was a box inside. She opened the box and inside was an envelope, she opened up the envelope and noticed that there was a letter that her parents had wrote her 21 years ago when they had left her and her husband Bob Jenkins the house.

The letter reads,

                

Dear Millie,

You are truly a wonderful person. You have made us both so proud to have raised such a beautiful and independent woman. You are always good at managing money, counting money, and holding money for other people. You are economical when it comes to spending and because you are so responsible even at the age of 21 we leave you some money for you to manage however you want. The amount of $800,000 was put in the bank for you to withdraw. We know you will do the right thing and spend it the best way that you see fit. You are always thinking of others over yourself and we hope that you will take the time and think about yourself for once.

Reading the letter that Millie's parents had wrote her had brought tears of joy to her eyes. Millie recalls when her parents had Bob, her fiance' at the time, over for dinner. Millie was 21 and Bob was 19. They had met when they were in high school. The first time they had met was when they went to Millie's senior prom. Millie was 18 and Bob was 16 and they hit it off the moment they danced. Ever since then they would keep in touch with each other by writing letters and calling each other on the phone.

Meanwhile, Bob was still living at home with his parents at 19 and went to a Community college in St. Louis, MO. Bob had came over with a beautiful ring because he had planned on proposing to Millie. Bob had made such a good impression and got along with Millie's parents. After dinner Bob had a chance to talk to Millie's parents.

Bob confidently said, "I would like to propose to your daughter and marry her with y'alls approval."

With all smiles, Millie's parents replied, "Most definitely, you have our approval!"

Bob whispers to Millie, "Can we go into the living room for a little bit, I have something I want to ask you?"

Millie shakes her head yes and that's when Bob pops the big question. Bob got down on one knee and said to Millie, "I am in love with you Millie, I loved you the moment I laid eyes on you. Will you marry me?"

Millie blushed and replied, "Of course I will marry you. "

Millie's mom and dad had planned on moving to Branson, MO because they saw a beautiful house that they liked and wanted to move to. The house in Poplar Bluff was all paid for.

Millie's parents told Bob, "Promise me that you and Millie will never go house hunting because we leave y'all our house here in Poplar Bluff."

Bob and Millie were so excited to be moving in the home that Millie grew up in. Millie was expecting a baby girl, who they named Sarah at the time and Bob and Millie replied, "Thank you so much this means so much to us."

Millie's parents had passed away when Sarah was 4 and Brian was a year old.

Now it was 17 years later, Millie have 2 grown children Sarah 21 and Brian 18. Brian was still at home with his parents in Poplar Bluff and Sarah went to a college in Kansas for 3 years. Millie decided to put $100,000 towards Brian's college because Brian was graduating high school in May. Millie and her hubby had took out $100,000 for a family vacation trips to Hawaii, the Bahamas, Colorado Springs, and Las Vegas so that they would go on a summer vacation. With the $600,000 that was left Millie and her hubby split up the money and decided they would use however much that they need for themselves and to help out their kids by giving them however much that they needed.

I remember how cool it was to come up with a scenario where you have parents whose mom had 3 miscarriages before they were able to have Millie. Millie was an independent woman who enjoyed helping others and who was so trustworthy. Millie and Bob went to the same high school and they turned down dates to proms because Millie and Bob loved each other and went as dates to their proms. The inheritance was a way of saying "You reap what you sow." I thought it was unique how even in a fictional story there is a lesson to learn.
